Engineering Operator

Labour 24/7 are an employment business acting on behalf of our Bolton based client who are currently recruiting for Engineering Operatives to join their growing team. You will be joining a well-established team where there is opportunity to learn and broaden your skill set.

The Engineering department is split into three sections however you will be responsible for operating across all three sections.

Workshop

Within the workshop you will be responsible for:

• CNC tube bending
• Drilling
• Tapping
• Prepping the metal for the welding team

Welding

Our client has 8 welding bays where you will predominantly perform MIG welding along with a small amount of TIG welding and plasma cutting. We also have 3 Robotic Welders.

Paint Plant

Within the paint plant you will be responsible for:

• Hanging – hanging metal components on the paint plant track for it to be powder coated
• Taking off – taking off the metal components off the paint plant track after they have been power coated
• Spraying – The paint plant track has a automated spray booth so the job of the sprayer is to touch up and ensure all metal components are cosmetically correct
• Digging out – material handling, ensuring the correct components are prepared
• Prepping – this includes putting bungs on the bottom of tables
• Packing – preparing the goods to be distributed using pallets, cardboard, bags or bubble bags

You will have the opportunity to learn and develop your skills across all three Engineering functions working your way up the skill pay grades. We are happy to train so there are opportunities to become an in-house trained MIG Welder.

Salary

Starting within the Engineering department oyou will be paid a standard rate of £11.44 per hour.

If taken on permanent and working as a General Operative, this will increase to £11.90 per hour.

The earning potential within the Engineering department can range from £11.44 to £12.50 per hour.

Working Hours

Within the Engineering department, you will be required to work 40 hours per week Monday through Friday.

Monday to Thursday 07:00 – 15:45

Friday 07:00 – 13:00

You are entitled to a paid 15-minute paid break in the morning and a 30-minute unpaid lunch break in the afternoon.

Overtime is available within the department during busy times, this is payable at an enhanced rate. It is encouraged that you do the business with overtime, The amount of overtime you commit to is taken into consideration when offering permanent contracts.

40 Hours

Standard Rate £10.42 per hour

40 – 48 Hours

Paid at 1.5 Rate 

48+ Hours

Paid at Double Rate
